4 week Daytime course - each session is 3hrs

This course is for anyone who wants to make clothes.

Suitable for you if you can confidently use a sewing machine, cut fabrics and already know how to insert a zip.

Complete beginners please see our Learn to Sew courses

For Zips and more sewing experience see our Learn to Sew MORE course

On this course we will introduce you to commercial Dress Patterns, show you how to measure for fit, and teach you how to read dressmaking patterns

Options:

Beginners - If you have never made a garment before we advise that you start with something simple and achievable so that you can gain confidence through success. We will provide you with a simple approved commercial pattern to work with at the start of your course.

Intermediate - If you have made garments before and you are coming to progress and challenge yourself feel free to bring along your own pattern. When choosing patterns we advise that you consider your sewing experience and your body shape. Pick something simple that you can make really well and choose a style suitable for your figure that will be flattering and make you feel good.

You will need to provide your own fabric on this course but you will not require any fabric on day one so don't rush, we can advise which fabrics will be most suitable for your project and where to buy nice fabrics from locally and online. See our favourite fabric shops on our BLOG

At the studio - We have a fully equipped studio space with Janome sewing machines, overlockers and cutting tools for you to use during classes so there is no need to bring your own machine.

During the course you will aim to make at least one garment that you are happy with. To achieve this you may be required to do some homework in between classes.
